Day Star Fu Yin

Heaven-plate Yi over earth-plate Yi: the Day Wonder doubles back on itself, wood energy stacked in place without motion. Matters circle and stall. This is no time to seek audiences with the powerful or chase advancement — keep to your station and wait for the moment to turn.

Formation

Heaven plate Yi + Earth plate Yi

In Depth

Fu Yin describes a configuration in which the heaven-plate stem sits on the identical earth-plate stem — everything frozen in place. Yi is the Day Wonder, yin wood; when heaven-plate Yi lands on earth-plate Yi, the two Yi share one palace, forming the Day Wonder Fu Yin. With Yi upon Yi, wood energy is layered on itself: the stems match without generating or overcoming, and the qi simply circles where it stands. 'Fu' means lying still; 'yin' means to moan. Hence the pattern points to delay, repetition, and frustration — the person concerned typically feels the urge to move yet finds no way to do so. In terms of fortune it is a neutral pattern, not read as a serious ill omen: Yi is, after all, one of the Three Wonders, so holding ground and continuing old business can still inch forward. But ventures, reputation-seeking, audiences with superiors, and any competitive undertaking make little headway — push hard and you mostly spin in place. If the palace it occupies is flourishing, there is steadiness within the standstill; if the palace is dormant, the gloom deepens. Points to note: the three auspicious doors — Open, Rest, and Life — ease the stagnation, while inauspicious doors seal it tighter. If the pattern meets the Void (kong wang), stillness at its extreme begins to stir, signaling that change is near — a good moment to lay groundwork in advance. Add door forcing on top, and the sense of being unable to advance or retreat grows sharper still. For dynamic matters — travel, taking up a post, opening a business — choose another hour; meeting stillness with stillness is what suits this pattern's nature.

Readings by Topic

Career

Job hunting and promotion stall; applications and interviews sink without a trace. This is not the moment to press for meetings with superiors or jump ship on impulse. Hold your current post, consolidate the work already in hand, and plan a fresh move once the energy turns.

Wealth

Money matters run flat: income holds steady, but new investments, store openings, and expansion struggle to launch — force them and you circle in place. Guard your existing business and holdings; avoid leverage and shiny new projects.

Relationships

The relationship idles in repetition — neither advancing nor retreating, the same conversations replayed. Proposals and confessions draw little response. Reconciliation, however, gains a slight edge, since Fu Yin favors what is old: stay patient and present, and resist the urge to push.

Health

Old ailments linger and recur — unlikely to heal quickly, equally unlikely to worsen. Chronic conditions, stagnant qi, and low moods dominate. Stick with the existing regimen; this is not the time to keep switching doctors or treatment plans.

Travel

Travel meets obstruction: itineraries slip, get rescheduled, or fall through, and even a completed trip achieves little. If you must go, shorten the route and keep to familiar roads. A traveler you await is unlikely to return soon — most likely still stuck where they were.

Disputes & Lawsuits

The case drags without resolution — procedures loop, hearings postpone, and an aggressive push yields no breakthrough. Play for time, work toward a negotiated settlement, and do not try to force the pace now; you would only burn time and legal fees.
