AI Mei Hua Yi Shu · Daily Decision

Mei Hua Yi Shu draws an image from the present moment and follows its change through one matter. Once the hexagram is formed, AI interprets it alongside the original I Ching text.

What is Mei Hua Yi Shu?

Mei Hua Yi Shu is a method of reading the present through images and understanding a situation through change. It is grounded in the trigrams and philosophy of change in the I Ching, with a system built on the image-number learning of the Song thinker Shao Yong. It treats the time, numbers, and immediate signs around a question as clues to its current state.

Primary hexagram
The initial six-line figure produced by the selected casting method; it frames the situation at the moment of the cast.
Changing line
The line position selected by the numerical rule, counted from the bottom line as one to the top line as six.
Transformed hexagram
The hexagram produced by reversing yin and yang at each changing line, used to consider the direction of change.
Received text
The judgment, Image, and line statement associated with the actual hexagram and line, stored separately from AI-generated explanation.

How does a hexagram take shape?

Walk through number casting with 1 and 2: map each number to a trigram, then use their sum to locate the changing line.

Its purpose is not to predict a fixed outcome, but to use image to understand the situation, number to form the hexagram, and change to observe the trend: the primary hexagram shows the present, the changing line shows where movement begins, and the transformed hexagram shows where the situation may be heading.

Earlier Heaven trigram numbers

Number casting always uses this fixed mapping; it is not assigned on the fly. One maps to Qian, two to Dui, and eight to Kun.

  1. 01

The first number sets the upper trigram

    1 ÷ 8 → remainder 1

Remainder one maps to Qian, so Qian is the upper trigram.

  2. 02

The second number sets the lower trigram

    2 ÷ 8 → remainder 2

Remainder two maps to Dui, so Dui is the lower trigram.

  3. 03

The sum sets the changing line

    (1 + 2) ÷ 6 → remainder 3

Remainder three means line three. Hexagram lines are counted upward from the bottom line, so this is the third stroke from the bottom.

Primary and changing line

Lü · line three changes

Transformed

Qian

Line three begins as yin; changing it to yang turns Lü into Qian. A zero remainder is treated as eight for a trigram and line six for a changing line. This example explains the cast without interpreting fortune.

Four casting methods

A casting method determines only how the primary hexagram and changing line are obtained. Once cast, every method uses the same hexagram matching, transformation, and source-text lookup. A zero remainder is treated as eight for a trigram and six for a changing line.

  1. A

    Time casting

    Input

The year, month, day, hour, and minute on the questioner’s local device. The server does not substitute its own location or clock.

    Calculation

Upper trigram = (lunar year-branch number + lunar month + lunar day) mod 8. Lower trigram = (the same total + two-hour period number) mod 8. Changing line = the lower total mod 6.

The tool does not collect a location, so it does not apply true-solar-time correction. If a valid local date and time are missing, casting is rejected rather than silently falling back to server time.

  2. B

    Number casting

    Input

Two positive integers supplied by you. The software validates the numbers but does not invent a mystical origin for them.

    Calculation

First number mod 8 determines the upper trigram; second number mod 8 determines the lower trigram; their sum mod 6 determines the changing line.

The same ordered pair always produces the same primary and transformed hexagrams. A more emotionally meaningful number is not treated differently by the code.

  3. C

    Random casting

    Input

Two values selected by the program’s ordinary random-number mechanism.

    Calculation

The two random numbers pass through exactly the same upper-trigram, lower-trigram, and changing-line formulas used for number casting.

This is ordinary software randomness, not a physical entropy source or a cryptographic claim. FateMaster does not market it as inherently more spiritual or more accurate than another casting method.

  4. D

    Manual casting

    Input

Enter an upper trigram, a lower trigram, and zero or one changing line. Leaving the line unselected records a static hexagram, so this mode suits existing casts with no more than one changing line.

    Calculation

Lower-trigram lines form the bottom half and upper-trigram lines form the top half. If one changing line is selected, only that line is reversed; with no selection, no line is reversed.

Accuracy depends on correct transcription. A source figure with multiple changing lines cannot be transcribed faithfully through this interaction, and a manually entered Mei Hua figure is not silently converted into a Liu Yao Na Jia chart.

How do you read the primary, changing line, and transformed hexagrams?

Separate chart fields from prose interpretation. A term that sounds technical should not be treated as calculated unless it is actually present in the structured result.

01

Trigrams and six lines

Each trigram has a fixed yin-yang line pattern, image, and Five-Phase association; an upper and lower trigram form one of the received hexagrams.

The program matches actual line arrays to hexagram data instead of asking a language model to reconstruct lines from a name.

02

Primary and transformed hexagrams

The primary hexagram is the starting structure; the transformed one is generated by changing the selected line or lines.

Every specified line is flipped in the line array, so the transformation can be checked line by line.

03

Changing line and line statement

The changing line identifies the most direct point of transition and is normally read with its received line statement.

The source dataset contains 64 hexagrams and a computed total of 386 regular line statements plus the special Yong Nine and Yong Six statements. The tool retrieves the actual line text by position rather than generating a placeholder.

Mei Hua Yi Shu is therefore best suited to one concrete question unfolding now. It does not issue a command in place of your decision; it offers a structural map of relationships, obstacles, and the direction of change so that you can judge the timing more clearly.

02 · Verify

Why can this result be checked?

Check the cast, then judge the reading

Useful reliability is not a list of internal tests. It means you can answer two practical questions yourself: was the hexagram cast correctly, and does the interpretation show its basis?

01

Was the hexagram cast correctly?

You can retrace every step from the input numbers to Qian above Dui, line 3 changing, and Lü transforming into Qian. With the same non-random input, the primary hexagram, changing line, and transformed hexagram should not change.

02

Does the reading show its basis?

A reading should identify the hexagram, the changing line, and the source passage behind its conclusion. A wrong hexagram name, a mismatched line, or advice that could fit any question remains unreliable however polished it sounds.

Where do the rules and quotations come from?

A claim of “classical authority” is useful only when the exact role of each text is named. Casting rules, received I Ching statements, and modern software behavior are therefore listed separately.

Trigram numbers and time-number casting

Sections such as “Numbers of the Zhou Changes” and the year-month-day-hour examples can be compared with the Earlier Heaven trigram sequence and the time-casting formula used here. They provide the classical basis for this implementation of Shao Yong’s image-number system.

Judgments, Images, and line statements

FateMaster stores the received text separately from modern explanation and selects passages by the actual hexagram ID and changing-line position.

This page treats Shao Yong’s image-number system as its methodological source while listing the rules in Mei Hua Yi Shu, the received I Ching text, and modern software behavior separately. Classical authority is not used to disguise undocumented program logic.

What does code calculate, and what does AI interpret?

This boundary tells you how to read the output. The left side can be reproduced under the same rules; the right side is contextual language and remains uncertain.

Deterministic layer

Reproducible steps

  • Validate the question, casting mode, numbers, manual lines, and local date and time.
  • For time casting, derive the lunar year branch, lunar month and day, and two-hour period number.

AI layer

Context-dependent judgment

  • Paraphrase the Judgment, Image, and changing-line statement in accessible language.
  • Relate the chart to the object, time horizon, and real-world conditions in the question.

A reproducible chart does not make future events scientifically predictable. Mei Hua Yi Shu is a traditional cultural and divinatory practice; AI interpretation is a reflective aid, not proof of fact.

03 · Apply

Use Mei Hua Yi Shu for a question

What questions suit Mei Hua Yi Shu?

It works best as a structured reflection on one current situation, not as an all-purpose life report. Choosing a suitable question usually matters more than choosing the most elaborate ritual.

More suitable

  • Whether to accept a specific offer, collaboration, meeting, or trip.
  • Whether a current plan calls for action, delay, or revision.

Do not rely on a cast alone

  • Medical diagnosis, medication, surgery, or other professional healthcare decisions.
  • Legal liability, guaranteed investment returns, personal safety, or other high-stakes outcomes.

How to use the online Mei Hua Yi Shu tool

A clear sequence from question to verification matters more than added ceremony.

  1. 01

Ask one matter at a time

Name the object, time horizon, and standard by which you will judge the outcome.

  2. 02

    Choose a casting method

Use local time for a present-moment cast, numbers when you have an ordered pair, manual entry for an existing chart, or random selection when intended.

  3. 03

    Read chart facts first

Check the primary hexagram, changing line, transformed hexagram, and matching source text before reading prose.

  4. 04

    Return advice to reality

Compare the reading with evidence, direct communication, and qualified advice; never make the chart the only basis for a consequential decision.

Mei Hua Yi Shu frequently asked questions

01

How is Mei Hua Yi Shu different from Liu Yao?

Mei Hua Yi Shu centers on numerical correspondences, images, a primary hexagram, changing lines, and a transformed hexagram. Liu Yao Na Jia additionally assigns stems and branches, Six Relations, Six Spirits, and Host–Guest lines and evaluates strength through month and day. They share the 64 hexagrams but not the same chart structure or interpretive rules.

02

Does AI participate in casting the hexagram?

No. Input validation, lunar-number derivation, trigram mapping, changing-line calculation, transformation, and source-text retrieval are performed by deterministic code. AI is used only after the chart exists, to explain it and answer follow-up questions.

03

Does Mei Hua Yi Shu have a proven accuracy rate?

FateMaster cannot honestly provide a universal scientific accuracy rate for real-world predictions. We can verify that input handling, formulas, line transformations, source-text alignment, and record restoration behave as declared. Interpretation of events remains a traditional divinatory and subjective practice.

04

Which decisions should never depend on this reading alone?

Medical, legal, investment, personal-safety, and other high-stakes decisions must not rely only on a hexagram or AI interpretation. Use verifiable evidence and seek qualified professional advice.
