The six lines form the primary hexagram. Old yin and old yang become moving lines, and their changes form the changed hexagram. This establishes what the situation is and where change is taking place.

Apply Na Jia stems, branches, and Five Elements
Each line receives its stem, branch, and element according to the upper and lower trigrams and its line position. Na Jia places all six lines into a relationship of strength, timing, and interaction.
