Fire Rebels at Earth Door

Ji earth, the Earth Door, presses down on the rebellious fire of Bing — a blaze smothered underground. The strong wrong the weak, grievances in lawsuits go unheard, quarrels fester in the dark, and undertakings stall.

Formation

Heaven plate Ji + Earth plate Bing

In Depth

Fire Rebellion at the Earth Door forms when heaven-plate Ji sits over earth-plate Bing. Ji is the Earth Door, dark and shadowed soil; Bing is the fire of the sun, fierce and restless — and fire that moves out of order is called rebellious. With Ji earth pressed on top of Bing fire, the blaze is shut inside the Earth Door: its hot breath finds no vent, congests, and turns rebellious — hence pent-up grievance and quarrels breeding in the dark. The classical line that the yang wrongs the yin names the pattern's human structure: the strong side oppresses the weak — man over woman, superior over subordinate, the open hand over the hidden one. Grievances unheard names the result: the wronged party has reason but no voice, the road of appeal blocked. The logic lies in earth smothering fire: Bing fire by nature shines forth and makes things plain, but capped with damp soil, its light becomes a smolder and justice becomes a hidden loss. The pattern is baleful, and its harm is suffocation: the disaster does not announce itself, yet it scorches day and night. Under this pattern, guard both ends: the strong should fear the payback that wronging others invites — today's suppression is tomorrow's kindling; the weak should fear finding no door for their grievance — better to go around than to ram head-on. As for gradations: with baleful doors the knot of grievance tightens, and the smothered fire will one day flash over — beware accumulated resentment breaking into open conflict; with auspicious doors the congestion finds a slender vent, and a go-between's mediation can loosen it. When Bing fire grows strong in its palace, the buried blaze gathers force to break the crust, and the wronged may wait for their reversal; if the palace meets Emptiness (Kong Wang), the grievance is mostly a misunderstanding that clears once spoken. The way of avoidance: let the strong yield a step and the weak take the detour — do not leave the fire smoldering underground.

Readings by Topic

Career

The workplace shows pressure from above: credit taken, blame passed down, and protest answered with rebuke. Head-on resistance gains nothing; keep thorough work records and raise the matter through indirect channels. Those in management, above all, must not lean on rank to crush people — smothered fire stores resentment, and it comes back.

Wealth

Wealth is taken by the stronger hand: partners overreach, accounts are concealed, and recovery has right on its side but no purchase. Put no more money in for now — stop the loss first. Gather the receipts and send in an intermediary of real weight; that outperforms dunning on your own many times over.

Relationships

One side dominates while the wronged one swallows anger in silence, and the cold war festers. In a courtship reading, first see who is being wronged; the party that endures in silence will one day erupt. Air the matter early, or borrow family and friends as mediators — do not wait for the volcano.

Health

Smothered fire wounds the body: watch for pent-up heart fire, red eyes and sore throat, and rising blood pressure — bottled emotion is the root. Symptoms run heavier in women and the frail. Release beats suppression: say what needs saying, test what needs testing, and once the congestion opens, the fire subsides on its own.

Travel

The road is full of swallowed anger: petty obstruction en route, bullying from the overbearing, and it is usually you who loses the exchange. Travel in company and keep clear of trouble spots. Southward journeys call for particular care — heat, fire hazards, and quarrels.

Disputes & Lawsuits

Grievances unheard is this pattern's core verdict: the case has merit but cannot win, and the weaker side's appeals are blocked. Do not rush to trial; first reinforce the evidence, change counsel, or seek a higher channel. As defendant, expect the other side to lean on its power; only when Bing fire turns strong does the grievance find its day in the light.
