Fu Xiang Chao Yuan (Treasury & Seal)
Tian Fu the storehouse and Tian Xiang the seal salute the Life Palace from the trinity structure — a life of ample provision and steady patronage, the classic pattern of solid, unhurried fortune.
🔑 How It Forms
Within the Life Palace's trinity (the palace itself + the opposite palace + the two trine palaces, four in all), both Tian Fu and Tian Xiang appear. That forms the pattern. The test does not weigh the brightness of the two stars and does not ask which of the four palaces each occupies — so long as both fall inside that range, they count as saluting the Life Palace.

🔬 A Worked Example, Step by Step
The chart below is cast by our own engine, and the steps come from the pattern detector in that same pass — the explanation is the judgement, not a separate write-up.
- 1
Locate the Life Palace (branch Wei) as the basis for judgement.
- 2
Looking for Tian Fu and Tian Xiang across the trinity of the Life Palace: all required stars are present.
- 3
Finally the tier: no malefics or Hua Ji disturb the trinity of the Life Palace, so the pattern stands at full strength.
✓ Result: the pattern forms at full strength
Tian Fu is the treasury star and looks after money and provisions; Tian Xiang is the seal star and looks after authorization and signatures. One supplies resources, the other supplies standing, and having both means the supply line and the personnel line report to the Life Palace at the same time. The classical sense of this pattern lives in the phrase 'saluting the enclosure': what counts is structural position rather than the strength of the stars, which is why the detector sets no brightness threshold. Being met across the trinity (also described as saluting or being carried in) means the star does not sit in the Life Palace itself but in the opposite palace or a trine palace, throwing its force in from a distance; one of them sitting in the Life Palace itself counts too, since the four palaces of the trinity already include the Life Palace. On the chart Tian Fu and Tian Xiang stand four palaces apart in permanent trine, so the two of them landing inside one trinity is a common arrangement — which is why this pattern is far from rare.
🎯 Readings by Topic
A steady climb inside a large institution, with administration, finance, and management the best fits. Seniority and credibility are the real assets; leaping about in search of adventure only breaks the rhythm.
The kind of money that never quite runs out: stable income, solid accumulation. With treasury and seal both in place, property and savings suit; high-risk speculation does not.
Domestic instincts run deep and the partner is usually the steady, family-minded kind. The marriage resembles the pattern itself — not dramatic, but built to last.
⚠️ When It Breaks
If either Tian Fu or Tian Xiang is fallen or meets a malefic, the salute loses half its force. Tian Xiang flanked by blade and obstruction has its seal overruled; Tian Fu without Lu keeps an empty storehouse. Either way the pattern is broken and the blessing discounted.
