Wind Escape

The Yi wonder meets one of the three auspicious doors descending upon Palace 4 (Xun) — wood returned to the place of wind, like a sail catching a fair breeze. Favorable for borrowing momentum, spreading the word, and advancing with the wind; speed wins the day.

Formation

Heaven plate Yi + one of the three auspicious doors + Xun 4

Classical Verse

天上六乙合三门,下临巽宫风遁矣。 (Six Yi above joined with the three doors, descending upon the Xun palace — this is Wind Concealment.)

In Depth

Wind Concealment is formed when heaven-plate Yi meets one of the three auspicious doors — Rest, Life, or Open — and descends upon Palace 4 (Xun). Yi is the Sun Wonder, yin wood; Xun is wind, wood's home palace. Yi returning to Xun is wood restored to its own place, matched in element and flourishing, and guarded besides by an auspicious door — like a sail spread to a following wind, veiled by the wind itself: the image of riding momentum, with half the effort and twice the result. The pattern's logic: Yi wood entering Xun gains its ground; wind's nature is movement and transmission — hence everything that needs borrowed momentum, swift word, and rapid advance prospers. The old arts used it for firing with the wind, sailing before it, and waiting on the wind to move; today it extends to marketing and communications, releasing announcements, and positioning on a favorable policy wind. The pattern is auspicious, and its art lies in one word, riding: one's own strength is finite, but borrow the outer wind well and you cover a thousand li in a day; wind also governs commands and messages, so releasing news answers to it too. Caveats: winds shift — conclude matters quickly, for delay lets the wind turn and the momentum go; if the Yi wonder falls into the tomb or the door is oppressed, the wind dies and the sail drops, its power much reduced; if the palace meets Emptiness, the wind roars but little rain falls — fanfare must land on substance; and since wind scatters, keep your own counsel on major decisions rather than swaying with every gust.

Readings by Topic

Career

Favors rising on the wind: industry booms, policy tailwinds, and reorganizations are all openings — the quick mover takes the lead. Volunteer for new business and chase the live projects; hesitate and watch, and the wind passes, the sail drops, and the chance goes to another.

Wealth

Seek wealth by riding the wind at speed: hot sectors, media and communications, and cross-border trade all pay — timely information is itself the revenue. Move in quick small steps and bank profits promptly; the wind turns without warning, so heavy bets and long lock-ups are not what this pattern favors.

Relationships

Love should move quickly: a declaration or proposal carried through in one breath succeeds, while dawdling lets the warmth scatter on the wind. Word passed through friends and connections made online bring good news; Xun is the eldest daughter — an older woman may make the introduction. Couples often apart should write and call often to keep the bond warm.

Health

Wind governs movement: liver-wind, urticaria, and respiratory complaints flare easily now but also yield easily — early treatment works fast. Exercise outdoors in moving air and avoid long hours in stuffy rooms; conditions shift quickly, so adjust prescriptions promptly rather than holding one formula unchanged.

Travel

Greatly favorable for travel: fly, sail, move fast — a fair wind the whole way, arriving ahead of schedule. The southeast is especially auspicious, answering the Xun palace; a trip taken on impulse brings unexpected delight, while postponements breed complications — depart as planned.

Disputes & Lawsuits

Litigation wants a swift decision: gather evidence fast, file fast, and set the narrative before the other side does. When public opinion blows your way, press the advantage; drag into a war of attrition and the wind dies, the momentum scatters. Watch for rumor and loose talk — let no idle tongue tangle the case.
