Earth Concealment is formed when the Open Door, heaven-plate Yi, and earth-plate Ji share one palace — one of the Three Concealments. Yi is the Sun Wonder, the vital qi of yin wood; Ji is the Door of Earth, the private gate of Kun soil. The Sun Wonder descending upon the Door of Earth is like a body veiled in purple cloud, its radiance stored underground — the image of shelter by the land's own favor. The pattern's logic: the Open Door governs career and gateways and is an auspicious door; the Yi wonder is nourished by Ji soil, wood planted in earth with roots sunk deep — hence all matters of foundations, land, and stored reserves prosper. This is a greatly auspicious pattern: good for building houses, buying land and property, garrisoning and holding fast, burying and storing, sowing and farming, burial and founding — anything tied to land, foundations, or concealment answers to it best. Yi over Ji is ordinarily the Sun Wonder Entering the Mist; it is the Open Door that turns mist into concealment — the door is the hinge of the whole pattern, so always verify the door's condition when divining. In rank it equals Heaven Concealment but points the other way: Heaven Concealment favors open advance, Earth Concealment favors lying low and securing the base. Caveats: if the Open Door is oppressed or the Yi wonder falls into the tomb, the land's aid is much diminished; if the palace meets Emptiness the foundation is unsound — delay purchases and construction until the Emptiness is filled; with strike-punishment as well, disturbed earth may wound the roots — break ground with caution.

Steadfastness matters most, and quiet preparation beats loud display; acquiring the family home together anchors the relationship in a settled hearth.

Indicates strengthening at the root: chronic conditions gain the land's help in convalescence — choose this hour and direction for rest cures and hospital stays, with spleen-stomach and digestive ailments improving most. Recovery wants stillness, not motion, with diet before all else; avoid toil and travel that drag out the course of treatment.

Travel

Travel is best for relocation, settling a household, or surveying land and property; you land on firm footing and local people readily help. Not for conspicuous far wandering, but good for quiet moves; valuables can be carried safely — fix your lodging before you set out.

Disputes & Lawsuits

Most favorable in disputes over land, housing, and title: solid evidence and firm standing carry the day. Win on written deeds and instruments rather than publicity; private mediation also serves well — keep the quarrel contained and settle it on firm ground.
