Noble Enters Tai Yin

Two Ding stems side by side — the Star Grace enters the realm of Tai Yin. Documents and credentials arrive promptly, joyful matters go as hoped, and plans receive quiet help behind the scenes. An auspicious pattern for paperwork and the flow of information.

Formation

Heaven plate Ding + Earth plate Ding

In Depth

Grace Entering Tai Yin forms when heaven-plate Ding sits over earth-plate Ding. Ding is the Star Grace, a yin fire — the glow of a lamp or candle, standing for documents and credentials, messages and news, and help given quietly from behind the scenes. With two Ding in one palace, the starlight enters the realm of Tai Yin: its radiance turns inward without losing its clarity. The logic of the pattern lies in the Star Grace reinforcing itself: doubled Ding fire gives matters of paperwork and news a double push, hence the reading that documents arrive at once and joyful matters go as hoped. The pattern is auspicious, but its luck lies in the civil rather than the martial sphere: seeking credentials, awaiting news, handling procedures, and signing contracts answer most readily, while ventures that rely on force gain little support. Since the two stems are identical, the pattern also carries a Fu Yin quality of self-repetition: events tend to play out along their existing track — quickly and with few twists — so do not count on surprises beyond what the chart promises. As for gradations: paired with the three auspicious doors — Open, Rest, or Life — the good news comes faster and more solidly; with baleful doors such as Harm or Fright, the documents still arrive, but the process picks up quarrels and detours. When using this pattern, check the state of the palace it lands in: Ding falling in the Qian palace enters its tomb — lamplight sinking into dusk-dark earth — and news turns dim and slow; if the palace meets Emptiness (Kong Wang), the documents exist in name but not in substance, and one must wait for the emptiness to pass; add Door Coercion (Men Po) and the auspicious force drops another notch. All told, this is one of the few patterns where identical stems side by side still read as auspicious, and it answers especially well for documents, glad tidings, examinations, and admissions.

Readings by Topic

Career

Job applications, civil-service examinations, and promotion paperwork move smoothly; approvals, offer letters, and admission notices tend to arrive on schedule. With the Open Door or Life Door, appointments go especially smoothly; with the Fright Door expect a little more office chatter, though nothing that derails things. Win by the pen — do not force a contest.

Wealth

Money luck is steady and mildly favorable, good for income from contracts, instruments, and settlements; receivables tend to bring word of themselves. Ding fire's wealth is a long, thin stream, not a windfall. When the palace meets Emptiness, paper gains are hard to pocket — wait until the emptiness passes before collecting the balance.

Relationships

Love brings glad news; letters, messages, and confessions passed along all land easily. Two Ding side by side mirror two hearts reflecting each other, and reunions with old acquaintances answer especially well. With Liu He or the Rest Door, courtship can lead to marriage; if baleful spirits also appear in the chart, sweet words come faster than follow-through — watch the other person's actions before deciding.

Health

Illness is mostly minor — heart-fire complaints, eye trouble, low fever, insomnia and the like. Medical news and test reports come back quickly, which helps diagnosis. If Ding falls into its tomb palace or meets Emptiness, reports lag and the cause stays unclear for a while — a follow-up check is the safe course.

Travel

Journeys go smoothly, communication stays open, and helpful people appear along the way. Well suited to trips for paperwork, visas, or interviews; documents and formalities settle easily. Favor the direction of the palace where the Ding Grace lands; if Door Coercion appears, pushing the date back a day or two is steadier.

Disputes & Lawsuits

Litigation is won on documents and evidence; filings, judgments, and mediation papers arrive quickly. This pattern in a lawsuit reading points to a paper battle rather than physical harm, with settlement in reach. With the Fright Door, expect a few more rounds of wrangling, but the outcome still leans your way.
