Shen Shui Yuan is the traditional deity title for Three Stars Mansion, number 21 in the atlas and part of the Western White Tiger. It follows Turtle Beak Mansion and precedes Well Mansion. Reading this star map
Three Stars Mansion has a slanted central row of three, surrounded by four more widely spaced stars: seven in total. The reference is the upper-right member of the central row. Begin with that short chain, then follow the longer extensions. The name is not a limit of three stars.
Understanding the deity title
The traditional title 參水猿 (Shen Shui Yuan) combines the mansion character 參, the association 水, and the animal image 猿. The astronomical entry is Three Stars Mansion. A deity portrait expresses cultural imagery; a star map records positions and connecting lines. They can be read together without expecting the star pattern to resemble the animal.

「又主權衡。所以平理也」《晉書》卷十一・天文志上・二十八舍Alongside military imagery, Shen is associated with weighing and equitable judgment. A modern reading compares choices by the same measure instead of asking only who wins. Good judgment still needs context; not every difficult situation requires an immediate verdict.
