Nine Stars

Tian Fu Star

A greatly auspicious star among the Nine, of the Wood element with its original palace in Xun 4. As the star of literary distinction, it governs culture, education, and patronage — favorable for examinations and study, marriage and construction, long journeys, and audiences with the influential.

In Depth

Tian Fu belongs to the Wood element, with its original palace in Xun 4. Classified as greatly auspicious, it is the star of literary distinction. Its imagery covers culture, education, propriety, and support: in people it points to teachers, writers, scholars, advisers, and the gentle and modest; in affairs it signals study, documents, moral instruction, and patronage. Among the Nine Stars, Tian Fu, Tian Qin, and Tian Xin rank as the supreme auspicious three, and wherever Tian Fu lands, virtually any undertaking may proceed — above all examinations and study, writing and submissions, seeking a teacher or a reputation, weddings, construction, and relocation. It is prosperous in spring, supported in winter, resting in summer, imprisoned in the earth months, and dead in autumn. When prosperous, literary fortune flourishes and patrons lend real weight; when weak, its blessing thins — talent goes unrecognized and paperwork stalls — yet its benevolence never quite fails. It is at home in Zhen and Xun; in Kan, fed by Water, inspiration flows like a spring; in Qian and Dui, cut by Metal, talent is suppressed and endeavors labor. Tian Fu is gentle and upright by nature: sharing a palace with auspicious doors and the Three Nobles gilds the lily, and even paired with malign doors it preserves a margin for recovery amid the harm. Meeting it in divination, one may confidently advance by honest means; under Emptiness (Kong Wang) its blessings are discounted — postpone major undertakings until the emptiness passes.

Readings by Topic

Career

Strongly favors examinations, civil-service selection, professional titles, and promotion in clerical ranks, with superiors inclined to lift you up. Education, culture, and consulting professions benefit most. In reviews and reports, let written work lead — a well-crafted document is the door-opener.

Wealth

Steady, legitimate income earned through knowledge, skill, and reputation; favorable for businesses in culture, publishing, and training. Windfalls and speculation are not its strength. When prosperous, negotiate raises and sign long-term contracts; when weak, money flows gently — resist rash moves.

Relationships

Highly auspicious for marriage: the partner is cultured and courteous, from an upright household, and the match often comes through teachers, friends, or classmates. Choosing a wedding date when Tian Fu is prosperous adds further grace. For the married, it signals domestic harmony and children who excel in their studies.

Health

Generally mild, governing liver-gallbladder complaints and wind conditions — dizziness, spasms, allergies — mostly light and manageable. Convalescence is best spent in quiet reading and soothing the liver. Seek established, academically trained physicians and recover by following their regimen.

Travel

Journeys are blessed, meeting kindness along the way — ideal for study tours, visiting friends, inspections, and travel to examinations. When prosperous, long journeys succeed smoothly; when weak, expect small delays that spoil nothing. Do your itinerary homework in advance.

Disputes & Lawsuits

Wins on paper: the more complete the contracts and written evidence, the better the odds. Benefactors often step in to mediate — settle graciously rather than fight to the end. Engage a scholarly, well-grounded lawyer; persuading by reason is this star's proper road.
